JCAC Heating & Cooling’s story began 40 years ago when Juan Carlos Adan decided to take
up a career in the HVAC industry. It’s just now that the fruits of his hard labor and good works
are coming to fruition.

Originally born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, Juan’s journey to the United States was not for the faint
of heart. As a young child, fighting for scraps and going to bed hungry in his Cuban hometown
was the norm. At the age of nine, Juan, his brother, and parents had to travel and live in Spain
for a short time before being able to come states. They found themselves in Atlanta, Georgia,
where the brothers grew up, went to school, and started their lives. Juan met his amazing wife
Maria (originally from Mexico) in Atlanta, and the pair ultimately packed up their bags and
moved to Birmingham, Alabama. In the spring of 1998, they introduced a baby boy into the
world, and almost exactly two years later a baby girl to bring even more joy to the family.

Twenty-six years later, after graduating from the University of Alabama of Birmingham with a
bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Juan’s son, Giovanny Adan briefly mentioned
starting an HVAC company to him. Not even three months later, the father and son duo got a
service van and hit the ground running. Now, the two are on a mission to build an exceptional
HVAC company with its values embedded in all the intangibles that come with hard and good
work: gentility, knowledge, leadership, and excellence.
